Mexican Corn Aerial Roots Reduce Need for Fertilizer

Jean-Michel Ané, Professor in the Department of Agronomy at UW-Madison, discusses the benefits of a variety of corn found in Oaxaca, Mexico. The corn secretes bacteria filled gel which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a form of nitrogen the corn can use as its fertilizer.
